Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
House Bill 2548 passed by the 81st Texas Legislature, amends Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 1302 relating to the membership of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractors Advisory Board, an advisory body to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. House Bill 2548 and the changes to Chapter 1302 became effective September 1, 2009.
TDLR encourages all persons interested in the air conditioning and refrigeration contractors law to review the updated Occupations Code, Chapter 1302.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (“Department”) proposes amendments, new rules, and repeals to existing 16
The proposed amendments to 16 TAC §§73.10, 73.20-73.24, 73.26, 73.28, 73.40, 73.65, 73.70, 73.80, and 73.90; new rule §§73.51-73.54, 73.60, and 73.91; and the repeal of existing rule §§73.51-7354, and 73.60 was published in the September 18, 2009, issue of the Texas Register (34 TexReg 6398). TDLR will accept comments on the proposal until October 19, 2009.
TDLR encourages all persons interested in the electricians program to review the rule proposal.
The Board is composed of seven members appointed by the presiding officer of the Commission, with the Commission’s approval. The Board consists of one member who holds a license for a beauty shop that is part of a chain of beauty shops; one member who holds a license for a beauty shop that is not part of a chain of beauty shops; one member who holds a private beauty culture school license; two members who each hold an operator license; one member who represents a licensed public secondary or post secondary beauty culture school; and one public member. Members serve staggered six-year terms, with the terms of one or two members expiring on the same date each odd-numbered year. This announcement is for the vacancies of a licensed public secondary or post secondary beauty culture school and a public member.
