The State Board of Education will be meeting in Austin on January 12-15, 2010 for second reading and final vote on CTE issues - particularly the changes to the graduation requirements and courses aligned for the 4th year or math or 4th year of science, as well as a Fine Arts credit for Floral Design. Note that a CTE Speech course, Professional Communications, is up for adoption. Also, the option to use a CTE 2-3 hour work-based course for the PE credit is proposed to be eliminated. If your campus takes advantage of this "substitution", ask your administration to submit a letter proposing local control of this option.
