9/30/10: The Instructional Materials Service (IMS) at Texas A&M is pleased to introduce Automotive Technology Online Courseware.
This new courseware is a cooperative offering between IMS and the Instructional Materials Laboratory (IML) at the University of Missouri.
The courseware comes complete and ready to use, with student lessons (available as a PDF and PowerPoint), assignment sheets, job sheets, and tests. All assessments can be completed online and are available in a printer-friendly format as well. And by using the courseware’s editing functions, you can even customize the material to meet your specific needs.
To get the most from your courseware, consider the Resource Guide and Curriculum Crosswalk for Advanced Automotive Technology. This guide, which was developed at IMS, directly aligns the Auto Tech courseware with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills that the courseware addresses.
From now until January 31, 2011, the courseware is available to all automotive instructors free of charge. Those who sign up for the free trial will have full access to the courseware’s material and capabilities. Modules for Introduction to Automotive Technology, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Engine Performance, Engine Repair, Steering and Suspension, Brakes, Manual Drive Train, and Heating and Air Conditioning are currently available. The module for Automatic Transmissions and Transaxles will be made available during the 2010–2011 school year.
