Possible Reduction in Federal Funds
5/29/12: The Division of Grants Administration has published a letter on the TEA Correspondence page describing the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA’s) response to a possible reduction in federal education funding.
Known as sequestration, the possible reduction in funds is anticipated to total approximately $4.1 billion nationally for the 2012–2013 school and grant year. To prepare for the possibility of such a funding cut, TEA has elected to reduce by 10% the amount released in planning amounts for all federal grants, as detailed in the May 29, 2012, letter.
TEA has scheduled the following TETNs to allow for discussion of sequestration and the reduction of planning amounts:
